Formerly with a leading City merchant bank, Simon spent a year travelling and working around the world, working in a variety of jobs from a gardener in Sydney to a ski technician in France. On return to the UK, he joined a financial services group for six years, latterly as head of team specialising in group pensions. Simon joined BallRacing Developments Ltd in 1996. The ambition that caused him to join the company remains undimmed - to see develop a model organisation that delivers its vision in a way that is morally and ethically sound, and that enables customers and staff to have their expectations realised and exceeded.
Simon has recently stepped down from the role of Managing Director in favour of his younger brother Nik, in order to exclusively devote his time and energies to a new and exciting project that BRD intends to launch in June 2006. Said Simon: “It has been a privilege to play a role in establishing BRD as a world leader in motorsport simulation, and I am very pleased that someone with Nik’s all-round managerial expertise and leadership qualities will be guiding the company to meet, in an ever-changing industry, the challenges of the future.” Simon, who is married, with four daughters aged between four and eleven, finds he no longer has time for his favourite recreational pursuits - golf and skiing. Instead, he is more likely to be found studying the Bible and ancient history and seeking travel opportunities to interesting historical sites in Europe and the Middle East. |
