Daniel was something of a computer child prodigy. At age of 14, he was employed, in between school classes, as a technical consultant with a leading Californian computer consultancy, programming and supporting computer systems for clients, including full-scale company database applications.
He later moved onto mainframe applications for Silicon Valley company, Boole & Babbage, now a part of the BMC Software group, where, over the next 13 years, he rose through the ranks, honing his programming and networking expertise. As the internet began to emerge as a global communications force, Daniel joined AltaVista, the grandfather of search technologies, in its quest to build the ultimate search engine.
He worked in the network department at company offices in Palo Alto, California, for six years as a Senior Network Engineer – “It gave me a very good understanding of how technology and user experience can be crafted to the point that technology can become transparent to the end-user, which I have been able to apply to my network skills, programming and creative elements.”
Daniel, who joined BRD full-time in 2005, said: “I always wanted to find a company that I could grow with, not only practically, but in creative ways, too. That’s why I love BRD – as it lets me incorporate all my avenues of creativity into my work to make a better product line.”
Daniel, Director of Media Ministries at Vintage Faith Church in Santa Cruz, California, lists his hobbies as electronics, photography and videography. |
